MW Equipment — Sector

Housebuilding &
Residential.

Volume housebuilding creates logistics challenges at scale — hundreds of plots, phased development across large sites, waterlogged foundations and groundworks spread across multiple active fronts simultaneously. MWE products use the groundworks plant already on site to manage fuel, water and fencing across the full site footprint, without fixed infrastructure or additional contractors.

01 — The Challenge

The Problems
MWE Solves Here.

01

Foundation & Trench Dewatering Across Active Plots

Waterlogged plot foundations are the single biggest cause of groundworks programme delays on residential developments. Rain, high water table, or saturated ground hold up concrete pours, drainage installation and slab construction across multiple plots simultaneously. Traditional submersible pumps need mains power or generator hire and long hose runs between plots. The WetBag requires no mains, is repositioned by the groundworks excavator plot-to-plot, and stores pumped water for disposal at the correct point.

02

Fuelling Plant Across a Large Phased Site

A 500-home development with 20 active plots, multiple groundworks machines and site compound generators consumes significant diesel daily. Getting fuel to plant scattered across a large site — particularly in muddy groundworks conditions — is time-consuming with a conventional bowser lorry. The FuelBag is moved by the excavator or telehandler already on site to wherever the plant is working, plot by plot, phase by phase.

03

Site Boundary & Plot Security Fencing

Large phased residential developments require Heras security fencing to be installed, relocated, and recovered across a long programme as phases open and close. Manual panel handling across a muddy, developing site is labour-intensive and an MSD risk. The FenceBag's 54-panel lift — operated by the site telehandler — reduces boundary fencing installation from 2–3 days to 4–6 hours and eliminates the manual carry entirely.

02 — MWE Products for This Sector

Equipment Built for
This Industry.

Volume housebuilders operate on tight programme margins and even tighter labour budgets. Groundworks subcontractors are under constant pressure to clear plots faster, move to the next phase, and avoid weather-related delays. MWE products address the three tasks that slow groundworks teams most often: getting diesel to the machines, getting water out of the ground, and getting fencing where it needs to be — using the excavator and telehandler already on site.

WetBag

Foundation & Plot Dewatering — No Mains

No mains power required. Repositioned by groundworks excavator plot-to-plot. 3-inch dirty water pump clears foundations, drainage trenches and slab bases quickly. 2,000L tank stores pumped water for disposal at the correct point — important on sites with surface water drainage and contamination sensitivity. Reduces plot clearance time and protects programme.

FuelBag

Site Plant Fuelling — Plot by Plot

2,000L bunded bowser repositioned by site excavator or telehandler across the development. No bowser lorry on site roads. 8-metre hose reel reaches plant without the FuelBag being adjacent. Reduces fuelling time per machine and eliminates jerry can handling. PPG26 bunded — standard requirement for residential site fuel storage.

FenceBag

Heras Fencing — Phase Boundary Installation

54 UK-standard Heras panels per lift. Installs 200 panels in 4–6 hours instead of 2–3 days. Relocates boundary fencing as phases open without significant gang labour. Operated by site telehandler or excavator already on site. Reduces MSD exposure from repetitive manual panel carrying and cuts fencing labour cost per project.

03 — Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions from
This Sector.

The WetBag is repositioned by the groundworks excavator using the MW Easy-Lift System — the same machine that's already digging foundations. It moves from plot to plot as groundworks progress, pumping each foundation clear before the excavator moves on. No mains power, no generator hire, no long hose runs between plots. One operator handles the full dewatering operation.

Surface water from plot dewatering may not be discharged directly to a surface water sewer or watercourse without EA consent, particularly if the site is on made ground or in a nitrate vulnerable zone. The WetBag's 2,000L tank stores pumped water for controlled disposal at a designated point — giving site managers control over where the water goes and supporting EA compliance. Check your site's drainage management plan.

Yes. The FenceBag is compatible with telehandlers, loadalls and rough terrain forklifts via the MW Easy-Lift System. On a residential development, the telehandler already used for materials handling can also manage boundary fencing installation and relocation across phases — with no specialist attachment and no machine modification required.

MWE products are manufactured by ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001 certified UK partners. ISO certificates, material test certificates for S355 steel, and product documentation are available on request to support groundworks subcontractor and housebuilder supply chain approval processes.
